The Natural-Hip™ Family
The fit of an anatomic stem with the surgical ease of a straight stem
The Natural-Hip combines the surgical simplicity of a straight stem with many of the best features of an anatomic stem. The Natural-Hip's innovative design approach provides optimal cortical loading and bone remodeling without sacrificing ease of implantation. A complete system of porous-coated and nonporous stems cover the full spectrum of patient bone types and sizes with a single set of easy-to-use instruments.
The comprehensive Natural Hip Family offers a variety of stem options to address high, medium, and low demand patients, as well as revision and other special patient needs...

Porous Coating for High Demand Patients This titanium stem has Cancellous-Structured Titanium (CSTiTM) mimics human cancellous bone, providing a reinforced flow barrier between the proximal area and the diaphysis, which may prevent osteolytic potential AND provides for biologic fixation. Available in collared and collarless as well as short neck options. |

Porous HA for Biologic Fixation Zimmer is the first company to offer Hydroxyapatite (HA) coating over CSTi. HA porous surfaces encourage effective filling of the proximal femur, avoiding further degeneration. Available in collared and collarless options. Intended only for use without bone cement. |
Premier Suits the Medium Demand Market A solid choice for medium demand patients, the Premier is a press-fit stem made of lightweight titanium for increased flexibility and low incidence of thigh pain. |
Low Demand (LD): A Cost-Effective Choice The LD stem provides a clinically proven, cost-effective solution for low demand patients. Depending on patient condition and surgeon preference, this cobalt chrome stem may be press-fit or cemented. |
Calcar Replacement for Special Cases The cobalt chrome Calcar stem meets the needs of special circumstances such as hip trauma or revision situations characterized by proximal bone resorption. The notches on the lateral flange accommodate wiring of the greater trochanter, if needed. The roughened distal surface provides for enhanced fixation. |
Nonporous CoCr and CoCr Revision The strength of cobalt chrome makes this an excellent cemented option. Several features ensure successful cementing, including:
Intended only for use with bone cement. |

Offset Stem Corrects Varus Deformities; Preserves Bone
The
Natural-Hip Offset Stem's unique bone-sparing geometry reproduces the
natural anatomy more accurately than standard offset stems, with an
additional 6-7mm of offset. Designed to maximize the Natural-Hip
instrumentation set, only new head/neck adapters are needed.

Natural Approach The Natural-Hip's long-term clinical success can be attributed to its innovative design approach, which combines the surgical simplicity of a straight stem with the ideal features of an anatomic stem. |
Long-Term Clinical Performance The Natural-Hip Family of stems has been successfully implanted in nearly 100,000 patients with over 12 years of outstanding long-term clinical results. |
Broad Spectrum of Indications Natural-Hip's comprehensive range of press-fit and cemented stem design options for primary, revision and trauma-related THA address awide array of patient bone types and sizes to accomodate individualized patient demand requirements and surgeon philiosophies. |
Precision Instrumentation Natural-Hip's streamlined set of precision, universal instrumentation is designed to help ensure reproducible and predictable clinical results by creating the same femoal cavity, stem size for stem size, for both press-fit and cemented stems. |
Extensive Range of Sizes Natural-Hip's multiple range of stem sizes, neck lengths and offset options allow for an anatomic fit with optimal soft tissue balancing. |
Complete Compatibility The Natural-Hip is compatible with CARETM MIS Instrumentation and all Zimmer acetabular options, including CoCr Unipolar/Bipolar heads, Metasul Metal-on-Metal and Durasul Highly Crosslinked Polyethylene in head diameters up to 44 mm. |
