NexGen® Complete Knee Solution Legacy® Posterior Stabilized Knee (LPS)
The NexGen LPS, a posterior stabilized implant, is intended for patients
who, in the physician's judgement, have adequate bone stock and whose
ligaments provide moderate joint stability or for when the posterior
cruciate ligament has been cut or removed. The LPS is frequently used for
patients undergoing a "primary" or first time total knee joint replacement
surgery. The LPS is designed to accommodate people with the ability and
desire to perform activities that require at least 0-125 degrees of
flexion such as, walking, sitting, and climbing stairs.
NexGen LPS Case Study
The x-rays shown are from a 68-year-old female patient, a candidate for
primary total knee replacement surgery, who was diagnosed with severe
degenerative arthritis of the left knee. Her range of motion
preoperatively was 16-68 degrees. Postoperatively, the patient, upon
recovery, had a range of motion after rehabilitation of 0-115 degrees.
