Zimmer® Revision Knee Arthroplasty Solutions (Revision Knee LCCK)

The Revision Knee BioSkills Training course will provide a thorough introduction to the NexGen® Legacy® Constrained Condylar Knee (LCCK) femoral component and the solutions it offers in revising a total knee arthroplasty.  This course will review the causes of a failed primary total knee arthroplasty including wear, aseptic loosening, infection and ligament instability; as well as cover the principles of revision knee arthroplasty.  Participants will be educated on bone defect classification, bone conservation and the use of Trabecular Metal™ as a solution to bone loss. 

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • assess common modes of failure for primary total knee arthroplasty
  • demonstrate proper implant removal through a tibial tubercle osteotomy
  • recite essential principles of revision knee arthroplasty
  • summarize the solutions offered by the LCCK component
  • identify patient indications and contraindications for revision knee arthroplasty
  • demonstrate the proper surgical technique and use of the LCCK component
  • describe and address common issues faced when performing the procedure
